Extrusionados Galicia, S.A. “Extrugasa” company is located in Valga (Pontevedra) twenty kilometres south from Santiago de Compostela; it has eighty five thousand square metres of industrial premises dedicated to aluminium in several versions and placed in an estate of one hundred and fifteen thousand square metres.

Extrugasa is a familiar company dedicated to aluminium since the sixties. It was then when Mr. Andrés Quintá, its founder, after having traded with profiles for other Spanish companies, decided to give a great change to his company and bet on the challenge of installing his own anodizing plant for aluminium profiles; this surface finishing was the most requested at that time.

Going on with its founder’s policy of innovation, Extrugasa, from its beginning, paid a special attention to the different constructive tendencies that were generated in the market. With the appearance of the first painting lines in Spain, the company took part of that important technological advance installing its first electrostatic painting line in 1982.

Obviously the company was expanding at the same time the customer's requirements appeared in the market in different sectors in which aluminium profiles had a relevant role. Being loyal to this dynamic of constant innovation which is a characteristic in Extrugasa along its professional way, the company went on increasing its surface finishing plants, until it was finally brought the first 1300 Tn extrusion press in 1984.

It is, without any doubt, this investment, the first extrusion press, the one which will be a milestone in the history of Extrugasa as an absolute leader in the aluminium sector. The familiar company founded in the earliest sixties was ready better than ever to grow and reinforce itself. That was its moment and Extrugasa made a good use of it. It became into a prosper industry in the aluminium sector and that is what it really represents nowadays. This industry bases its works on the synergy between the most modern technology and the personnel of the factory’s dedication. Nowadays Grupo Quinta has four extrusion presses 1300 Tn, 1600 Tn and 2500 Tn; the fourth one is a very modern BREDA press of 3200 Tn provided with the newest technological advances characteristic of this kind of machines, which will be put into operation shortly; four horizontal coating lines for aluminium profiles and one of the most modern vertical coating line, assembling machines for thermal break frames, a wood effect plant, the possibility of supplying engineeried profiles and accessories machines. But Without any doubt, what really makes Extrugasa be a distinguished company with regard to other companies in the same sector are the three automatic anodizing lines. Their characteristics make them be unique ones in Spain. Moreover the automatic store for aluminium profiles, can manage more than 2200 stillages in a record time.
